Olga Sedakova Design

The Swiss art-designer Olga Sedakova, with Russian roots and a background in competitive sports, specializes in the design and creation of artistic furniture, lighting concepts, and accessories for both indoor and outdoor spaces using the innovative natural stone product Skinrock. She aims to capture the essence of natural forms and structures and express them through interior objects. In her work, she combines natural stone with light, organic patterns, shapes, and materials. The transformative appearance and mystical atmosphere of her artworks are meant not only to be observed but also seamlessly integrated into everyday life.
In her creations, she is dedicated to the timeless beauty of nature, its fragility, and its connection to humanity. Her creativity and the elegance of natural stone are reflected in her ammonite logo, inspired by her experience as a world-class synchronized swimmer.

The Essence of My Work

The philosophy of Olga Sedakova Design is to create unique artworks that remain one-of-a-kind while also designing patterns that can be reproduced in limited editions. Through limited production runs and handcrafted manufacturing, the exclusivity of her creations is maintained. Discounts can be individually negotiated based on order quantity and delivery timeframe. Upon request, Olga Sedakova also develops and implements new concepts.

Achivements

Since I started working as a designer in 2022, I have already celebrated several successes. For example, the ‘Stone Flower’ lamp was honoured with a prestigious design award at the A'Design Award and Competition in Italy in 2023. Magazines such as Schweizer Illustrierte and Zürichsee-Zeitung reported on my creative successes. My works were already exhibited at the Hotel Laudinella in St. Moritz in 2022. In 2024, I will be presenting my work at both the Art Expo in Basel and the Swiss Art Expo in Zurich. For the International Design Exhibition Utopia in New York in September 2024, I was specially selected and invited with one of my works. For the winter season 2025, some of my light installations and artworks will decorate the Swiss luxury hotel The Chedi in Andermatt.

Whether customised design commissions according to individual wishes or the rental of my works for special occasions - I do everything I can to make my customers' exclusive ideas a reality. Some of my works remain unique one-offs, while others can be reproduced in limited editions. My clients' wishes always take centre stage.

OUTDOOR LIGHT CONCEPTS

The lighting concepts are available both as individual pieces and in sets. High-quality material such as SKINROCK natural stone lend the luminaires a timeless elegance and natural aesthetics that blend harmoniously into any garden landscape.

In the dark, the unique natural stone structure emits a magical glow that not only provides light, but also an unrivalled atmosphere.

I only use first-class, EU-certified electrical cable systems and specially manufactured, robust metal stands for the realisation. The outdoor lighting is completely weatherproof and windproof and impresses with its durability and reliable functionality.

Outdoor Furniture

During my career as a designer, I developed a unique process to enhance outdoor furniture with Skinrock, a natural stone veneer. By applying an ultra-thin layer of Skinrock onto the frames, each furniture piece is completely transformed, featuring a luxurious natural stone surface.
The stone veneer’s thinness and translucency allow the furniture to be illuminated from within using LED lights. This creates an exquisite, decorative piece with a high-end natural stone look—robust and solid yet lightweight due to its hollow structure.
This versatile design invites each customer to personalize their lighting settings, creating a magical atmosphere for their outdoor space. Two types of LED lighting options are available: rechargeable LED lamps with batteries and waterproof LED lamps with a continuous power connection.

As a designer, I strive to fuse art with everyday objects. Whether it’s lighting, furniture, plant pots, or vases – all of these are integral parts of our daily lives.
Each of my creations carries a unique idea and a message: art should not only be admired but also experienced and used. The energy of art should enrich and beautify everyday life, filling it with positivity.
My goal is to create art pieces that resonate with people, touch their hearts, and inspire them – pieces that are not only functional but also emotionally meaningful.

Inspiration

Creativity is my sixth element. The birth of ideas happens spontaneously and unexpectedly. To be in a constant search, to realize the images born from imagination, to be inspired - this is the essential state of an artist-designer.

My beliefs

Creative Design made of high quality natural materials should be sustainable and ecologic.
All materials I work with is or purely natural materials or high quality sotifitted product with no toxic properties.

Olga Sedakova is a laureate of the prestigious A'Design Award in Italy. New York Exibition

In October 2024, Olga Sedakova was given the special honour of presenting her designs at the international design exhibition ‘Utopia 40x40’ in New York. The event, which had the inspiring motto ‘Nature in Design’, brought together creative minds from all over the world.
